    Ben Mogensen ’24
   (SP23 Paro, Bhutan)
This trip was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it turned out to be the most meaningful 100 days of my life. Week one almost killed me, but I soon found that every one after that was better than the last. I made some of the best friends of my life and shared moments with them that only they will ever understand. I felt so free having been afforded the time, space, and support to incorporate gentleness, mindfulness, and balance into my daily routine.

Throughout the trip, I gained a profound understanding of what it means to be a minority, and, remarkably, I felt genuinely welcomed by the Bhutanese people we encountered. I wish I had captured more footage of our interactions with them, but I was so engrossed in the moment that I rarely remembered to pull out my camera. A million thank you’s to everyone who made this trip possible and supported me along the way. To all who were there with me, I say: “Name same kadrinche la, tashi delek!”
